Patrick Swayze and Stacy Widelitz co-wrote She's Like The wind in 1984 for the Grandview, USA soundtrack. It was never used in the film. While filming Dirty Dancing, Swayze played the demo for the film producers. They loved the song and passed it along to the soundtrack's executive producers. In November 1986, Patrick Swayze and Wendy Frazier recorded for the song for the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack. The song, much like the movie, was an unexpected success reaching number one on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The Dirty Dancing Soundtrack was number one for 18 weeks. She's Like the Wind is still on rotation on the radio today.
